Baby Lapsit and Storytime programming are on break until summer programming begins when there will be a new schedule. Parents are always invited to share books with their children in the Children's Room. Summer schedules for Baby Lapsit and Storytime can be found on our Events Calendar as well as on handouts at both check-out desks.
Families are invited to join in the fun of baby lapsit and storytime at the Wiggin Memorial Library. Each week you and your child will enjoy the best in children's stories, music, movement and creativity. You don't have to sign up; just come to as many sessions as you can.
Baby Lapsit offers babies and parents (or grandparents) the opportunity to interact in a relaxing and fun environment while learning stimulating and nurturing early literacy activities. Each program consists of rhymes and rhythm, bounces/tickles/wiggles, baby-friendly picture books, and music followed by a social time.
At Storytime song and stories are presented using books and the flannelboard. Fingerplays, creative movement, rhythm instruments, and puppet friends also add a touch of fun. The session concludes with an art or craft activity. After the program families are encouraged to check out books, music, and magazines.
